Wolves should sign talented Brazilian wanted by Nottingham Forest to replace Pedro Neto

He reports that the interest ‘remains strong’ from the Reds, while it is said the Portuguese side are holding out for €40m (£34m) for their talented winger.

Although Forest and Juventus have shown the most intrigue, it’s Wolves who should use the impending £54m from Neto to trigger Porto’s asking price.

Galeno – a right-footed left-winger – produced some phenomenal displays last term, particularly in the Champions League, where he scored five goals in seven appearances, including a stunning winner against Arsenal in the last 16.

Porto did go on to lose that tie at the Emirates 4-3 on aggregate but the one-time Brazil international could hold his head extremely high, having registered an eye-watering 16 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

It’s such numbers that place the 26-year-old in elite company across Europe and give supporters every reason to believe he can be the heir to Neto’s throne at Molineux.

The most eye-catching part of Neto’s game is watching his immense ball-carrying, with the jet-heeled winger almost gliding across the pitch.

He combines his incredible dribbling and searing pace to make him a nightmare to defend against, which is why several clubs want to sign Galeno.

As highlighted by the Brazilian’s strongest parts of his game are progressive carries (4.30), placing him in the top 11% of Premeira Liga wingers, while he also ranks in the top 4% for touches in the penalty box (6.84).

To put it simply, Galeno is an exciting player to watch – like Neto – and how he drives at defenders will get bums off seats at Molineux.

For £34m, Wolves could land the perfect replacement for their Portuguese superstar and strike gold from a league where they’ve had success previously.
