Kevin Malone is considering reigniting his interest in purchasing Everton after the Friedkin Group takeover collapsed, according to Shamoon Hafez.
Writing on hisΒ personal X accountΒ (19 July), the BBC Sport journalist reports that a consortium led by the LA Dodgers general manager is looking into a deal once again, after their initial interest lost out to Dan Friedkinβs bid.
That dealΒ collapsed due to complications surrounding the money owed to 777 PartnersΒ [The Athletic, 19 July], and the group are βtrying to figure out how to deal with thatβ before making a final decision on whether to try and purchase the club from Farhad Moshiri.
Everton need new owners quickly
It looked like things were finally looking up for Toffees fans and the club, with the future looking bright, until aΒ bombshell dropped that the Friedkin Group were withdrawingΒ from their bid [Alan Myers, 19 July].
Now there is big worry about the long-term future of the club again, with debts of over Β£600million owed to various people plus the stadium costs to complete the build looming over their head.
