‘Little bit of a surprise’: Two-time Olympic gold medallist Michaela Blyde signs with Warriors
Two-time Olympic gold medallist Michaela Blyde will become the latest rugby sevens import to join the NRLW competition with the New Zealand Warriors.
The 28-year-old, who is regarded among the best sevens players in history, helped New Zealand claim the top prize at Paris 2024 but is now eyeing off a fresh challenge.
Blyde has scored 247 tries in 218 appearances for the Kiwis and won back-to-back World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year awards in 2017 and 2018.
In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, Blyde expressed her gratitude to be joining the Warriors for their 2025 re-entry to the league.
