Todd Cantwell’s comments on Celtic captain Callum McGregor are even more bizarre after Philippe Clement outburst

It continued on Wednesday night when the Rangers boss made the odd call to return to an already finished press conference and report that Todd Cantwell had asked to leave the club and was demoted to training with the B team.

He’s played up to it at times, as well. Back in April, there were particularly odd comments given to to whom he suggested he has a greater desire than Celtic captain Callum McGregor to win trophies.

Cantwell said: “There’s a rivalry there, right? Listen, there are things which are said on the pitch and things which are said off the pitch.

“And, as a player, I think you should respect. I want to win probably just as much as he (McGregor) does, probably a little bit more, to be honest, because he has been up here a long time.
