Celtic have now re-ignited their admiration for Beck. They have checked in on his price tag and his current employers are open to moving him on for the right fee. Following an excellent loan spell at Dundee in 2023/24, the defender is in high demand.
Greg Taylor remains the only senior left-back at Lennoxtown. With his contract expiring next summer, there has to be movement to address the position before it becomes problematic.
He stated: “UPDATE: QPR are in talks with Liverpool over a potential loan deal for Owen Beck. Liverpool ARE open to offers for the LB & would prefer a permanent transfer, if their valuation is met. A number of EFL clubs are keen on a loan deal, with Celtic interested in a permanent move.”
Intriguingly, Joseph insists that Liverpool are insistent on letting Beck go on a permanent transfer. It is unclear how much they would demand exactly, but they have a valuation in mind before soliciting any potential exit.
If Celtic want Beck in the door, they may need to move swiftly as other clubs begin to make advances to land the defender late in the window.
Given he is someone the club has had a public interest in for a while, you would think they would be trying to close a deal for his signature as a matter of urgency. Whether those discussions have taken place remains to be seen, but the process of landing him may have become more complicated.
