Romano: “Newcastle said no” to selling young talent pushing for first team return next year

According to SKY via Fichajes, Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Alexander Isak as they look to take their attack to the next level. They are interested in the Newcastle United attacking sensation who has been doing wonders since moving to the Premier League.

Isak made a name for himself at Real Sociedad. On the back of his consistent performances at the Spanish club, the Magpies forked out a significant fee to sign him in the summer of 2022. He has only gone from strength to strength since making the move to England.

The 25-year-old Swedish striker has established himself as one of the mainstays in their team and his consistent performances in front of goal have resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe.

While Isak hasn’t had the best of times this season as he only has three goals and an assist in his nine outings, the former Sociedad star has contributed towards 44 goals in his 76 outings for the Tyneside club.

Chelsea are keen on signing Isak

His ability on and off the ball along with his potential have put him on the radar of Chelsea who seek attacking reinforcement. The Blues wanted to sign a new number nine during the summer but things didn’t go according to plan.

While their attack has been doing wonders this season, they are still on the lookout for an out-and-out goal scorer who could further bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad and Isak’s name is quite high on their wishlist. They consider the Swedish international to be just the perfect fit for their system.

According to the report, the London club are gearing up to make an offer worth €75 million to try and lure him away from Newcastle. The figure makes it quite clear that Chelsea are very serious about their pursuit. While the Magpies consider him a fundamental part of their plans, the price offered will make them think twice and the player’s stance will also play a massive part in a potential move.
