Paulo Bernardo to finalise Celtic move after my top source’s reveal – Wyness

Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Paulo Bernardo’s move to Celtic “will get done” after speaking to his sources in Portugal.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted the Hoops will pay around £6million with personal terms for the 22-year-old not set to pose a problem.

Bernardo is a top target at Celtic after spending the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Parkhead as they secured a league and cup double.

Football Insider previously revealed (7 July) that the Glasgow giants are offering to include a sell-on clause in the deal to smooth over the negotiations.

The 22-year-old is under contract with Benfica until 2027 after coming through the club’s academy.

Bernardo could become next big Celtic sale with £6m deal close, says Wyness

The midfielder started in 15 of his 33 appearances for Celtic last term, notching four goals and three assists.
