The Reds ultimately ended up disappointed in their quest to sign some competition for Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi.
Bild have been quizzing the Egyptian striker on the decision not to head to Forest during the summer transfer window.
It was claimed in the English media at one point that the player was open to the move and that it was close at one point.
A valuation of £28 million was quoted in England but Bild dismissed that as a ‘joke’ with Frankfurt valuing him much higher.
Marmoush has made a strong start to the 2024/24 campaign, scoring four goals and claiming three assists in five games.
He’s enjoying his football and ultimately leaving the Bundesliga outfit never crossed his mind.
He told Bild: “The feeling I have here, especially with the coach, is indescribable. That just inspired me to stay here and concentrate on the task.”
The report does, however, claim that Marmoush dreams of the Premier League still and will not black a transfer if one should arise in the future.
Given that it sounds like Marmoush wants a Premier League move, there is nothing to suggest he won’t remain on the Forest radar.
However, if Frankfurt are craving more than £30 million then it quite simply might be out of the reach of Forest when it comes to the sums involved.
Still, the Reds have taken nine points from five unbeaten games so far this season and that sort of form for a bit longer might make Forest attractive to potential signings in January.
