Nottingham Forest’s stance on signing Alex Moreno permanently from Aston Villa

Alex Moreno has been one of the shining lights for Nottingham Forest this season, and the club’s stance on signing him permanently has now been shared.

Nottingham Forest have opted for Alex Moreno at left-back and Ola Aina at right-back, and it’s served them well so far this season.

Moreno joined on a season-long loan from Aston Villa with the option to buy in the summer.

He’s appeared nine times in the Premier League and has one assist to his name, starting the majority of those games.

An update on his permanent future has now been provided, and it seems as if the club are rather relaxed about it at the moment.

Nottingham Forest’s stance on an Alex Moreno new deal

Nottingham Forest won’t want to spend money if they don’t have to in the January transfer window, so the decision could be left until the summer.

However, if Forest do want to sign a player on loan in January then they’ll need to either sign Moreno permanently, or cancel James Ward-Prowse’s loan.

At this point, it looks like there’s no rush at all.

Alex Moreno joining is a no-brainer in the summer

It remains to be seen as to what the fee would be to sign Moreno permanently, but what we do know is he signed for Aston Villa for around £13.2 million.

Brian Laws claimed that Moreno looked overwhelmed against Arsenal, but that’s not typical of his season to date as he’s been fantastic most of the time.

Nottingham Forest fans were all calling for Moreno to sign permanently after his display against Steve Cooper and Leicester City earlier on this season.

Barring any kind of injury or a severe drop in form, a permanent deal looks likely this summer.
