Nottingham Forest willing to pay £25m asking price for 26-goal striker

Nottingham Forest have a short history of signing players from Brazil.

The Reds appeared to target the South American country shortly after winning promotion to the Premier League.

First, Gustavo Scarpa signed and although Ian Wright praised him, he never really settled.

The winger was joined at Forest in 2021 by Danilo and although he’s nursing a broken ankle right now, he looks like a very solid recruit at £16 million.

Corinthians have provided the best of the bunch from Brazil,

Manchester City tried to sign Murillo in the summer of 2023 but it was Forest who ultimately got themselves a £10.6 million bargain.

Murillo might play for Brazil this week and that would see his valuation continue to soar.

There was also Carlos Miguel – the 6ft 8in goalkeeper – who swapped Corinthians for £4 million during the summer transfer window.
