New Matt O’Riley transfer link as Euro giants contact Celtic in bid to ‘disrupt’ rivals

Juventus have joined the growing list of admirers of Matt O’Riley, according to reports in Italy.

Atalanta were the latest side to show a serious interest in the midfielder, having an offer of an initial £15million turned down with the Hoops holding out for £25m. Atletico Madrid previously had a bid knocked back in January while a host of Premier League clubs, including Southampton and Leicester, are in the hunt.

But Juve could be ready to pip them all, reports Tuttosport. It’s claimed officials from the Italian giants have been in contact with Celts to make their interest known as they look to add creativity in the midfield. And while it is stated that the Turin side do indeed have a genuine interest, their intentions are also partly to “disrupt” their Serie A rivals.

Juve are already interested in Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners and have been making attempts to prise him away, finding the price a sticking point. With the Black and Blues looking at O’Riley as a potential replacement, Juventus’ interest in the Celts man may have a bit of the ‘underhand’ about it.
