LAM DUNK Rangers outcast Sam Lammers REJECTS move away from Ibrox as Dutch boss reveals he tried to sign misfit striker

RANGERS misfit striker Sam Lammers has REJECTED a move away from Ibrox.

The Dutch forward never got going in Glasgow, spending a fruitful loan spell in his homeland with FC Utrecht in the second half of last season after being signed by Michael Beale in the summer.

Many Gers fans have been expecting the 27-year-old to move on this transfer window after failing to make his mark under Philippe Clement.

A return to the Netherlands looked the most likely after his incredible spell at the Stadion Galgenwaard.

He scored 10 goals in 18 Eredivisie appearances and his run of netting in nine straight matches breaking a club record.

But a return to Utrecht looks dead in the water after the player’s wage demands were said to put off potential suitors.

suggested that the club WERE prepared to match Rangers’ asking price of £2.7million for Lammers but he sought an annual wage of more than £1.25million.

And he’s now apparently turned down a switch to fellow Eredivisie outfit NEC Nijmegen.

Manager Rogier Meijer said: “I would really like to have Sam, but I don’t think he will come to NEC.

“We have spoken to him, but he has made a different choice.”
