Iliman Ndiaye Impact to be Felt Early in Season…

summer signing Toni Payne says the Blues are ready to “flip the page” after their disappointing start to the Women’s Super League (WSL) season and believes her new team have all the ingredients to improve in the coming weeks.

Brian Sorensen’s side lost 4-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend in their first game of the new campaign, with midfielder Aurora Galli also suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury at Broadfield Stadium. It was a tough afternoon for Everton but the game did offer the chance for Payne – who joined the club from Sevilla in July – to make her competitive debut for the Blues.

“Over my years of playing football I’ve found it’s always important to take the positives from each match you play and of course see what you can improve on,” Payne tells the ECHO, reflecting on her first outing in the WSL. “There’s not a time to dwell on matches, whether you win or lose, so it’s important to always keep pushing ahead.
