That stint featured just 31 appearances before he moved back to Italy, eventually signing for Inter and provoking Zinedine Zidane’s infamous World Cup final headbutt.
Man City signed Eliaquim Mangala in 2014 for a figure that reportedly made him the most expensive defender in history.
He did not cut the mustard and joined Everton on loan in January 2018, where he suffered a season-ending injury in his second match.
