As Celtic prepare to kick off their SPFL campaign against Kilmarnock this Sunday, the announcement of their League Cup opponents gives them a clearer picture of their early season schedule. The bhoys, keen to avoid a repeat of last year’s early exit at the hands of Kilmarnock, will be looking to make a strong statement against Hibs.

This match will be an early test of the squad’s depth and readiness for the season ahead. David Gray’s side will be looking to make their own statement at Celtic’s expense. And it will be a back to back double header against the Leith side with the Hoops visiting Easter Road the week prior.

All eyes will be on Celtic Park as the bhoys aim to secure their place in the next round and build momentum in both league and cup competitions.

After a solid and enjoyable pre-season, it’s time to back up what we did in America by grabbing some big results early on. The Champions League begins early September and we need to be fine tuned and ready.
