Belleville’s Bryce Underwood, Elijah Dotson set lofty goals after signing to Michigan
The man of the hour at Belleville High School arrived at the school cafeteria dressed for the occasion, ready for the attention.
Five-star Belleville quarterback Bryce Underwood showed up to the school’s signing day event for all seven seniors going to the next level rocking a blue Michigan sweatsuit and diamond Cartier glasses. He was met by a packed room anxious to see him sign with Michigan football during the early signing period.
“It’s just a blessing,” Underwood said. “A blessing I’ve been working for my whole life.”
Underwood and four-star safety Elijah Dotson made it official with the Wolverines on Wednesday afternoon, along with five teammates headed elsewhere. Underwood and Dotson signed the papers just after 5:30 p.m., joining the Wolverines’ 2025 recruiting class.
CLASS OF 2025:Meet Michigan football’s top-10 recruiting class, highlighted by QB Bryce Underwood
Underwood’s commitment marks the first milestone recruiting win for Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and his staff. Underwood is ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect and quarterback in the 2025 class, per 247 Sports’ composite rankings, and flipped his commitment to Michigan in mid-November after spending most 2024 verbally committed to LSU.
He said he decided to commit to Michigan when it came down to what would help his family the most.
“Honestly, when I had to figure out where my perspective was on everything that will help my family out the most,” he said of when Michigan came back into the picture. “And also, me knowing that I got to go to school as well.”
