Having arrived in Glasgow as a relative unknown to many Celtic fans, it’s fair to say that Ange Postcoglou became a firm favourite at Parkhead by the time he left the club.
The Aussie proved to be a massively popular figure among Celtic supporters, with his straight talking approach in the media coupled with his exciting footballing philosophy endearing him to fans.
He would experience plenty of success on the pitch, winning a league and cup double during his first season in charge, before going on better with a domestic treble the following year.
Postecoglou would also bring some top class players to Celtic, many of whom are still benefitting the club.
Ange Postecoglou used his knowledge of Japanese football brilliantly after joining Celtic, bringing a number of excellent players from the country to Scotland. Many of his other signings also turned out to be massive successes, something the club have benefited from both on and off the pitch.
Not only did the likes of Matt O’Riley and Kyogo Furuhashi contribute to the club’s trophy successes, but they also look set to help bump up the bank balance. Those players are set to bank a hefty profit for the club if and when they do move on. That is without mentioning the other Postecoglou signings that have already been sold for considerable profits.
