Well, ultimately we conceded from a rubbish set-piece. We shouldn’t give the ball away for the corner in the first place.
We had a chance to secure the ball and in a moment where we’re so on top, we got to grips with the game brilliantly and we started to cause them real problems.
Then we give them a corner and we have a chance to clear it and it’s a box, we don’t, and then I don’t know what goes on after that.
I need to watch it back but it’s not good enough for how much work we do on set-plays so I’m annoyed at that – but we didn’t play well enough in the first half.
There was a lot of tension in the team and they started well. We turned the ball over too much which meant there was a lot of tension in the stadium.
They made a couple of moments we didn’t make the most of but I think out of eagerness to make things happen we just turned the ball.
The minute we got into their final third we just turned it over and against Forest, it’s the worst thing you can do. It’s frustrating because we spoke about it all week.
In the second half, we started so well, they adapted brilliantly and were really on top. We spent a lot of time in their half and the game had changed momentum.
Then we gave them a moment and we’re chasing. They’re in transition, great with the quality they possess and the pace and power at the top end.
They had a few too many moments, a lot of shots outside the box especially in the first half but too many because of that.
We turned over the ball too much in the first half and then we’re chasing in the second half because we gave them a rubbish goal.
So frustrating then after that, actually in the last 15 minutes or whatever it was, there are not enough people desperate to score and make something happen.
We get there a lot, Charlie Taylor whacks one across goal and no one attacks it, it’s crazy. We had some really good moments, just didn’t show enough quality.
The guys at the top end of the pitch need to emulate what the guys at the back end of the pitch are doing.
It takes a lot more risk doing it close to our goal so they have to do better.
RM: I really enjoyed that period before they scored and actually some of it after, but I didn’t enjoy the first half really.
I think it was like at 0-0 at half-time you take that, come in, regroup and then they did brilliantly for a while after.
Too many turnovers, too many forced passes in the first half. I know what it is, I’ve been there. It’s out of eagerness to get there and show what you can do.
They just need to relax, take a breath play the way we play and trust the work.
RM: Not all the time. They both had chances inside the box at Newcastle.
It’s the same shape we won the play-offs with and it makes us fairly solid. It’s utilising the players that we have at the minute in the best way.
So, Ben’s always played there his whole career. Arma played there all last season and scored a lot of goals.
I’ve learned a lot about that in the last two and what we need to tweak and what we need to do.
But we’ll see it again and we might not. It’s not the reason we
RM: I think we need to add some help in the attacking third. If there was a big difference today in the teams, I think it’s that. Y
RM: Matues Fernandes was good. Really good. Tyler Dibling was brilliant. He was our biggest attacking threat and he’s on the pitch for 15 minutes.
He’s 18 and we need a bit more of that mentality, that freedom and going for it – but he is a really special talent that we have to just take our time with.
We probably need a little bit of help in that area, I would suggest.
RM: I don’t know. The one late on in the second half, I think he had cramp. I think that was frustrating but I don’t think it impacts the game too much.
