Deion Sanders lands another big signing for Colorado: ‘I’ll have a coach I can trust”
The Buffs are reloading for 2025
Ahistoric 2024 season saw the Colorado Buffaloes return to relevance in NCAA football. Powered by the performances of quarterback Shedeur Sanders and eventual Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, Colorado put together a 9-3 record in Deion Sanders’ second season leading the program — and a victory over Big 12 Conference rivals BYU would see the Buffs secure their first 10-win season since 2016.
But what comes next for Coach Prime and company has everyone watching. Few could have predicted Colorado’s success in 2024; now, the program has to build on it. For example, the school already clinched a commitment from five-star quarterback prospect Julian Lewis, signaling that the Buffs have quickly become a “Prime” landing spot for the country’s top recruits.
In what will be considered a huge step forward for his program, Coach Prime has convinced one of the best prospects in the transfer portal to leave perennial powerhouse Alabama and build something different in Colorado. That prospect would be junior defensive tackle Jeheim Oatis, who confirmed to ESPN that he would be suiting up for the Buffs in 2025.
