Daniel Farke firmly rules out Nottingham Forest man from his plans…

Leeds United head coach Daniel Farke says he’s happy to give Pascal Struijk another opportunity as the club’s penalty taker despite his miss in the game at Cardiff City. The defender and Leeds vice captain stepped up against the Bluebirds with designated club penalty taker Joel Piroe not on the pitch, but couldn’t convert with a tame effort in the second-half.

Despite Stuijk’s status in the squad, there were questions why none of the attacking players, especially starting forward Mateo Joseph did not step up to tale the spot-kick. With Piroe far from guaranteed to be starting games this season, the question was put to Farke whether another option needs to be explored.

The Leeds boss is not concerned with the current penalty taker situation, suggesting Struijk will get the opportunity to stay on penalty duties. He said; “We won’t decide it after that game, but I would definitely trust (Struijk) to finish the next one, because I think his record in total was nine out of nine, or something like this before.
