The Boston Celtics have every right to feel proud, as they captured their 18th title in the NBA. Not only did they end a championship drought that started in 2008, but they also now have the solo lead for NBA championships in history, breaking a tie with the Los Angeles Lakers, who remain idle with 17 titles.
Will the Celtics add another championship banner as soon as 2025? The long-time voice of the Celtics thinks so.
Mike Gorman, who recently retired as the Celtics’ TV play-by-play man and was among those who joined the team’s championship parade, envisions Boston coming out on top again next year.

Amidst Boston’s party for the Celtics and just a few days removed from the team clinching the 2024 NBA Finals, Gorman predicted the Celtics to repeat as champions and celebrate another title next season.
“Same time, same place next year,” he said.

It may be too early to tell whether the Celtics will be able to repeat as NBA champions, but Boston is already given the shortest odds. Over at ESPN Bet, the Celtics have +280 to win the title again in 2025, while the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves are right behind Boston with prices of +650 and +900, respectively, The Oklahoma City Thunder also have +900 odds to do it.
