Tennessee football lands Arizona transfer offensive guard
Wendell Moe
Tennessee football landed Arizona transfer Wendell Moe, a former All-Pac-12 selection, from the portal on Wednesday.
Moe, a 6-foot-2, 339-pounder, visited Tennessee over the weekend. On social media, Moe wrote “Blessed.”
Moe will presumably fill one of its vacant starting guard spots in 2025. He was a two-year starter at Arizona and two seasons of eligibility remaining.
In 2023, Moe was an All-Pac-12 selection as a redshirt freshman. And he played 760 snaps as an anchor on the Arizona offensive line in 2024. He started three games in 2022 but took a redshirt.
Moe started 27 games over three seasons with the Wildcats, mostly at left guard but also at right guard. He is from Long Beach, California, and played at Long Beach Poly in high school.
Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava is also from Long Beach, and he played his high school freshman season at Long Beach Poly. Moe told 247Sports that he didn’t know Iamaleava personally, but he spent time with him during his visit to Tennessee’s campus.
Will Wendell Moe start in 2025? That’s why the Vols got him
Moe should compete immediately for a starting spot.
Landing quality interior offensive linemen has been a big priority for Tennessee during this transfer portal window.
All-SEC right guard Javontez Spraggins has exhausted his eligibility. Left guard Andrej Karic also has exhausted his eligibility, but he is appealing to the NCAA for a medical waiver to regain one season and return in 2025. And backup guard Jackson Lampley also has exhausted his eligibility.
