Nicholson’ disagree with Brendan Rodgers timeline “for team formation as he said”..

Brendan Rodgers has set the timeline for strengthening his Celtic side.

The Irishman finished last season without any of the seven players signed last summer in his Staring XI as he steered the hoops to a dramatic double.

Mark Lawwell paid for the failings in Recruitment with the loss of his job but there has been nothing from the club about a replacement or restructuring the way that players are brought in.

Of course, we would want to get them in sooner rather than later. But it’s a two-way thing so hopefully we can get them done in the coming weeks.

Would we like to get some in before America? That’s the plan. I think every manager would like them in on the first day but what’s most important is the players we want are targeted.

We know what we want to bring in to improve the squad and I’m sure over the coming weeks we’ll conclude the deals and get us stronger for next season.

Celtic face DC United on July 21 followed by Manchester City on July 24 and Chelsea on July 27 which leaves little time for training in-between those matches.

Over the next fortnight Celtic fans will be looking for signings brought in with a replacement for Hart and a left-back likely to be the priorities with Greg Taylor the only natural in that position after Alexandro Bernabei went out on loan earlier this year.

With no obvious Head of Recruitment responsibility for recruitment falls on Michael Nicholson who was credited with involvement in the signings made by Ange Postecoglou in the summer of 2021
