Celtic FC nailed it with Rangers deal that left a lasting impression: View

It’s pretty clear now that Celtic are in a title battle with Aberdeen, with the duo level on points (28) and Brendan Rodgers’ side clear on goal difference (+26 to +11).

It may have taken up until the hour mark for Celtic to score their first goal against Dundee, but in the end, it was a fairly comfortable 2-0 win for the champions.

But, let’s be honest, whilst everyone expected three points at Parkhead, all eyes were on Pittodrie and what would be the result of Aberdeen’s clash against Rangers.

In the end, Philippe Clement watched his team take yet another humbling loss, as they are closer to Ross County in eighth than the champions themselves.

As everyone saw last season, even with Ange Postecoglou heading for the exit door, Rodgers returned and, not only delivered the title, but also that famous late winner in the Scottish Cup final.

Yet, Souness still dared to claim that there isn’t a gap between Celtic and Rangers, as he claimed at the start of the campaign.

“The discussion last season was about the gap,” said Souness.

“Now I don’t think there is such a big gap. I really don’t. I think I saw about four games, two O-d F-rm games last year of Rangers. I obviously watch them on the telly when they are on, I watch Celtic when they are on, I don’t see the gap as being enormous.”
