Striker Omar Marmoush has spoken about his decision to remain at Eintracht Frankfurt amid summer interest from Nottingham Forest.
The Reds were keen to bolster their forward ranks before the window closed on August 30 as they sought competition and cover for Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi. Marmoush was among the names on their radar, with two bids said to have been made for the 25-year-old.Reports from Germany suggested the player was “not convinced” about moving to the City Ground. However, it was also claimed Forest were reluctant to meet the forward’s £28 million-plus price tag.
not manage to get a deal for a striker over the line before the deadline passed. It would come as no surprise if they resume their search in January.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has insisted there was no disappointment at not adding another forward to the ranks. He said earlier this month: “In the transfer window we were looking for many options that could help us. The main thing was we looked for someone who could improve us and someone who wanted to be with us. These two things are very important.
“There was no disappointment (at not signing a striker) at all. The main objective was to keep the players we wanted to keep – this is something which is good for us in the development of the squad and afterwards knowing we have solutions. To believe in them, trust them and to develop them.”
