Howe confirmed last week that he is unlikely to feature until after the October international break, while Osula was only given his United debut in the latter stages of the defeat to Fulham on Saturday.

Whether United target a striker in January remains to be seen, with much of the summer spent in talks with Crystal Palace over defender Marc Guehi. The right-hand side of the forward line has also been an area for improvement, with some suggesting a new defensive midfielder is required.
