Adam Idah hasn’t had the best summer’s pre-season preparation for Norwich City amid strong links to Celtic.

The Republic of Ireland international has already stated he wants to leave the Championship club to join the Scottish Champions but amid strong speculation that he could join Celtic this summer, a move has failed to materialise.

After missing his flight for a pre-season warm-up fixture in Austria this week, Idah was disciplined by Norwich boss, Johannes Hoff Thorup despite rumours behind the scenes suggesting that a Celtic move is on.

Idah returned to a chorus of boos in his return to first-team action in the friendly home defeat against St Pauli yesterday and boss, Thorup, spoke post-match to ‘make it very clear’ where he sees Adam Idah‘s future ahead of his team’s new season kick-off next weekend.

Idah ‘took some meetings’ with Norwich boss

Idah was welcomed back into the matchday Norwich City squad after his disciplinary matter was dealt with and Thorup shared how the Celtic-linked striker is ready to do ‘whatever it takes’ to accept what his ‘role’ is now at the club.

Thorup said [Norwich Evening News], “Yes, he is (part of the plans for Oxford). And I definitely think it is (chapter closed).

“He had a good camp in Austria, where he came back into the group and of course, it took some meetings also to make it very clear what we expect stepping into the start of the season and the rest of the transfer window.

“It looked like he was ready to do whatever it takes to accept his role but also accepting that he was not a part of the team against Hoffenheim. And that’s how it is.
