Keith Wyness believes there will be parties capable of solving the issues that have so far prevented a successful takeover of Everton. The former Blues chief is hopeful realistic proposals still exist and that the answers may lie among the bidders that previously expressed an interest in the club.
Everton to take the club out of the hands of majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri. The Friedkin Group had, this summer, become the fourth group to sign an exclusivity agreement with Moshiri as part of efforts to explore a move for the club. But that came to an end last week amid concerns from the US group over some of the debt owed by Everton.
The stumbling block for The Friedkin Group, which owns Italian giants Roma, was the near-£200m lent to the club by another outfit that had failed in its takeover attempt, 777 Partners. The group is mired in legal and regulatory issues, and the and how they will be resolved, which led to The Friedkin Group’s withdrawal.
