Rangers transfer latest on James Tavernier, Sam Lammers, Ianis Hagi and Kenny McLean

Rangers want to sign more players but there current picture is pretty clear – they need to get rid of some first.

And not just deadwood either after admitted they would listen to offers for his whole squad apart from goalkeeper Jack Butland. And it could be that their captain is one of the first to move out the door with serious interest in James Tavernier from Turkey.

Trabzonspor had a first offer for the right-back rejected and while the club stood firm on that bid, it’s believed they would be open to selling at the right price, with £850,000 said to be the difference between the two clubs’ valuation. Trabzon are expected to return with an improved offer but that could be hijacked by a Super Lig rival.

Former Gers boss Gio van Bronckhorst is now in charge at Besiktas and has reportedly told his club to sign. It’s believed club chiefs are willing to grant his wish and make a move for the 32-year-old.

Sam Lammers is a player the club would like to move on. He has no future in Glasgow despite showing his worth during a loan at Utrecht at the end of last season. They were priced out of a permanent move due to his wage demands, as were FC Twente and AZ Alkmaar.

Now another Dutch club has missed out with NEC Nijmigen manager Rogier Meijer admitting: “I would really like to have but I don’t think he will come to NEC. We have spoken to him, but he has made a different choice.”

is another who could be used to bring in much-needed funds. He’s on the outside looking in after his loan at Alaves and his agent recently suggested a permanent move elsewhere could be imminent. But he’s also ruled out Galatasaray and Fenerbahce as destinations.
