The modest season shook the foundations of the team, causing several of its members to decide to hit the transfer portal, among them quarterbacks Alex Orji and Jayden Denegal.
Michigan’s QB room shakeup
As soon as the season ended, Denegal decided to return home to Southern California and committed to San Diego State. Denegal arrived at Michigan in 2023 as a three-star prospect. However, he saw very little action under center, going just 4-of-5 for 50 yards and a touchdown last season.
Orji, meanwhile, is still waiting for an offer. He did see some activity this season, filling in for Warren in two games with a record of 23 completions on 44 attempts, 148 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.
The departure of Denegal and Orji leaves Moore with only Warren in the quarterback room, as Jack Tuttle has already fulfilled his eligibility. Warren himself is also entering his senior year, forcing Michigan’s brass to begin the search for its next starter right now
